There are 3 steps to earning a spot at Camp Firebelly: completing an application, submitting your portfolio, and paying the deposit.
APPLICATION - We want college students (or recent graduates) eager to learn, anxious to get involved, and excited to work with and learn from an exceptional team of professionals. Keep an open mind + check your ego at the door. We're open to designers, photographers, illustrators + other creative types. This is your chance to explain why you'd be a good camper, what skills/hobbies/interests you'll bring with you and what you hope to gain from the experience.
PORTFOLIO - We're looking for examples that prove you're ahead of your years as a designer. We assume you already have a decent handle on the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and know your way around scanners, printers and OS X. When you submit your application include a link to your portfolio site or email us a PDF. Variety is good but quality is better. Be sure to read the requirements in the application!
PAYMENT - The cost of Camp Firebelly includes 10 days of activities, transportation, workshops, supplies, production costs and room + board (a place to sleep + good food to eat). Basically, we're using the money to pay for everyone's food + drinks, renting a big van, paying obscene gas prices, and all the activities we'll do that cost dough. The $1000 is all-inclusive that means everything but your personal purchases. But who needs cheesy souvenirs when you'll be taking home a bunch of sweet commemorative items!? BTW, what's a college credit or student conference cost these days...?
$1000 (25% due May 23, remaining balance due June 6)
SCHOLARSHIPS - So you think you've got what it takes...well all except for the dollars & cents part. Ok, then let's hear it. We need to know why. We've all had student loans (some of us still do), we've all had credit card debt (some of us still do), and we've all eaten ramen to survive (thankfully we're over that). So why are you different? What do you think you can contribute that will counter balance the finances we'll be footing for you? Tell us (in brief) why we should consider you for an all-expenses-paid scholarship. Keep in mind though, if you apply for the scholarship, you will not have the option to pay if we don't accept you. This is only for those folks who are desperate and TRULY can't afford to pay the $1000.
